Day Fourteen

James has evolved into a Kikitchi - a yellow monkey who is considered the perfect care teen. Hooray! The angel came and accepted him into school, and the present he received was a set of drums. I took him about four times today, and I plan to take him some more tomorrow before he becomes an adult. I've been slacking a bit on this generation in regards to music stats, so I'll have to play a lot of games with him tomorrow as well.

When he went into school, he met up with his band, a Chamametchi and a Hinotamatchi. Chamametchi I've had before, and Hinotamatchi is the average care teen for males. He's roundish and looks almost like Kuchitamatchi, although he has spiky hair that's dyed red at the top. I named their band 'Clams', because... Well, because.

Here is what Kikitchi looks like:

The funny thing is, in the Tamagotchi+Colour (at least I believe it's that version) Kikitchi is considered an adult, as is Chamametchi and as such the two are able to marry. Speaking of the Tamagotchi Colour and the ID, the Tama-Go (the pathetic attempt at localising them with only half the work involved) was ridiculous compared to them. It took the best feature of the ID and Colour, which was they were in colour, and did it in grayscale instead! I don't own a Tamagotchi ID or Colour, but I'm hoping to purchase one soon - seeing as the ID is now in English. I wouldn't have minded a Japanese one, considering Tamagotchis don't really have much reading involved, but the English one would be nice to have.

Also, now they're releasing a new tama that still isn't in colour, whilst Japan has already begun the marketing process for the Tamagotchi 4U, which is in colour and allows you to unlock features that previously haven't been options, such as actual potty training. But, I digress.

James got an ice cream from the King today. I don't really feed my tamas snacks, apart from on the older ones when it was needed to play games. Mine would always end up with toothaches. He also got a visit from his mother, Alice, who gave him 15,000gp, much the same way as Pip did before that.

Emily has a job now! I wanted her to become a preschool teacher, but I guess being really glamorous doesn't exactly make you suitable for that job. She failed with three Xs! It didn't matter, however, as she was instantly transported back to the job-picking screen. I made her become a banker instead. The banker game is exactly the same as the doctor one, different only in visual design. You now collect pennies, which give you one point, and notes, which give you two. You must avoid the poops and collect one hundred in total.

I'm hoping I can get the secret character for Emily before she gets married. Once your tama gets married, they can't change into a secret character.

Also, I realised that I never explained how the training bar works in the older versions. When your tama is a baby, it starts out by being empty. There are nine slots to fill, and you gain one every time you give the correct response to when your tamagotchi beeps for something. To give your tamagotchi attention when it beeps (this is not a beep similar to that of the 'you have mail' beep in the V4/.5, it is the beep that sounds right when your tama hatches and needs food and happiness), scroll through the menu options until you reach the first option on the second row. It looks like a little face crying out.

Select the face and you will be presented with two options; time out or praise. You must use a little intuition when you first start doing this, because if you select the option that wouldn't be relevant to the tama's needs, then the lit-up sign begging for attention will disappear and you will lose the chance to gain any training bars.

Here are the general things that your tamagotchi will do and how to respond to them.

Praise your tamagotchi when:
It cries.
It turns its back on you*.

Give your tamagotchi a time-out when:
It beeps for attention and nothing is wrong (hearts aren't emptied all the way, nothing out of the ordinary).

*Sometimes, when your tamagotchi turns its back on you, this can mean you've been neglecting it. If you come back from being away a long time and your tama has its back to you, this may mean that all of its hunger and happy hearts have been depleted. Praising it in this situation will not award you any training bars. You'll know if the praising has done nothing because no happy noise will sound. Giving a tamagotchi a time-out, however, whatever the situation, will make him upset.

Okay, stat time.

Day Thirteen

When it got to the middle of the day, I realised that it would be around the time that Alice got married yesterday, so I changed the time to 11:59pm and waited a minute so that she would leave the baby. I'm very impatient and I wanted to start the new generation today!

It takes six minutes for the parents to leave and for the lights to turn off again. What happens is that first the lights turn on, revealing the parents sat on either side of the baby, who is sleeping in his/her bed. They stay like that for ages before standing, kissing the baby and then floating upwards together. Afterwards the lights stay on for a good bit, revealing the baby sleeping, before they turn off again and allow you to check the tama freely.

I named the baby boy James, and I was determined to raise him properly. Every time he had to poop, I caught it and put him on the toilet. His hearts never dropped below three. I played games with him. His stress never went up. I checked his hearts every five seconds.

When he evolved he turned into Kuchitamatchi, the horrible care toddler! Why? What did I do wrong? -sobbing-

Well, anyway, I got over it and decided to like him for who he was. When the preschool teacher came a bit later, she gave him a toy car as a present. I'm a horrible person and haven't taken him yet, but I will tomorrow so he can crush all of the 'perfect care' toddlers into the ground with the skipping rope.

Emily also evolved today, into UraMemetchi, like I wanted! Here is what UraMemetchi looks like:

I think I might be going blind. Somehow it's brighter than the white on my computer screen.

UraMemetchi's close-up is actually quite horrifying, on account of her huge eyes. It's not as bad as Young UraMemetchi, who just looked like a dumbass when she was close to the screen because the light spots in her eyes were in different directions.

Seeing as I have a backlog of items on my V4.5, I decided to use some on Emily. The hat looks like a bandanna on her. When she plays the guitar she plays a few notes terribly off-key, so much so that I had to halt her playing prematurely because it just sounded so wrong. When she plays the drum she winks periodically. The shirt was just a normal shirt, rather boringly. I discovered that I didn't have any more uses on my fishing rod and that it had disappeared, so that was disappointing.

Emily is doing quite well on her quest to become the secret character. I actually don't know what the secret character looks like, but she must have one because she's basically Memetchi, and Memetchi from the V4 had one. ...Actually, I've never seen that one either. It'll just have to be a surprise! I hate surprises.

Day Twelve

Today Alice got married! Guitartchi came at 12:30pm and brought a Kuromametchi to be her mate, and together they had a...

...baby boy!

Yay! I've been waiting for one for two generations. If I take good care of the baby when it's left by its parents then I'll get a Mametchi, as Mametchi is the perfect care adult for the odd generation male.

I bought a whole bunch of hamburgers to fill up my food menu, but now I'm starting to think that might've been a bad idea. I think that when I feed Alice hamburgers that it raises her weight by two or three pounds. She's supposed to be middle-aged, she shouldn't need to play any more games to lose weight!

I used the cap to see what it would look like on Kuromametchi and Alice. Alice looked like a jester, and Kuromametchi just put... well, he just put a regular hat on. It was still sweet though.

Since Alice is 1st in the Star Rankings, her wages have gone up, so now she receives 10,000,000gp like her mother. Speaking of Pip, she gave Alice a Tama Battery. I think I've had that item before but I don't think I ever used it. I'm not sure what it does, but I think I might look it up before I use it just in case it screws something up.

I'm looking forward to when Alice leaves the baby! Just when you start to think 'gosh, this is getting a little tedious', your tama throws a kid at you or does something interesting and you get really hyped about it again.

The Music Star is definitely a fun tama, but it's a lot of work. Even the adults require almost constant care, what with all the door visits, concerts and constant praising needed when practicing. I found out what the praising does when it beeps whilst practicing. It keeps the stress down so it doesn't skyrocket up to about thirty and leave you with an unhappy tama. Anyway, I went off on a tangent there. I might see if I want to replace my Music Star with my V3, for a bit of simple old-school action. I like the V3 and its many characters. It's another tama that I played with when I was younger, but never really got to fully experience.

Now for an update on Emily. Since yesterday when she was asked to pick a teacher I accidentally left it idle for too long and picked the wrong one, I've been having to play lots of games of Shapes. I've actually gotten quite good at it, so thank god I'm not stuck playing a game that I always lose at.

Emily is doing pretty much the same as yesterday, but with a few more training calls. Tomorrow she'll become an adult, so hopefully more interesting things will happen with her then.

Oh yes, before I forget (something that I seem liable to doing with this blog), Alice got a chest from the king today. When I used it, she already had her baby and the chest turned all three of them into oldie characters! The two boys turned into Ojitchi and Alice into the old lady! It was sweet, especially when they all looked shocked after. You know, I don't think I've gotten one item out of a chest. I've always been turned into an oldie or a baby. Does the chest still give you items on the V6?

Okay, stat time.

Day Eleven

Today, Emily the Kuchitamatchi evolved into Young UraMemetchi! That means that if I play the Shapes game a lot, therefore raising my Glamour skill points, she'll become UraMemetchi, and then if I get the Glamour skill points to 350 (with 100 combined in the other stats) then I'll get a special character!

Alice received another 5,000,000p this morning. I've been calling the currency gotchi points, but in the actual tama there's only a 'p' sign, so maybe it's just called points? Well, it doesn't really matter. Speaking of Alice, she and her band also got their first Music Award for Latin today. It's taken a while, but finally it's happened.

Alice is able to marry tomorrow as well, so then I'll have a brand new generation bouncing around on my V6! Hopefully it's a male generation. Alice ended up eating all of the sushi in the food menu so now there's no favourites anymore. I still need to max out her rhythm points so that the baby will inherit the most out of her.

What's interesting about the V4.5 is that the characters that would normally be considered perfect care - that is, Memetchi, Kuchipatchi and Mametchi - are the horrible care characters. The perfect characters are counterfeit versions of these tamas - UraMametchi, UraMemetchi, etc.

Emily got a fishing rod from the king as a gift today. The fishing rod is an interesting item in the fact that it lets you use it multiple times, provided that on most of those times you don't catch an actual item. Emily caught a regular fish on her first try, so that doesn't count as an item. On her second try, she caught a massive fish! It was so big it took a few seconds to show the entirety of it across the screen! Unfortunately, the giant fish doesn't count as an item either. I'm saving the rest of my fishing rod uses for tomorrow.

On the V4.5, the child's family group is heavily influenced by the parent. If the parent was in the UraMeme group (as Kyoya was) then the child is more likely to go into the UraMeme group than it is any other group. The first generation is unhindered by this, and as such a toddler in the very first generation can evolve into any group.

Now, for stat time.

Day Ten

Kyoya did indeed leave last night (or I suppose I should say this morning), leaving me a new baby girl to take care of. A new baby that is received from an already existing adult will not require any attention as long as you don't put in its name. If you leave it on the screen in which it is crying above a banner displaying its gender, then you can be free to go about your day in peace if you can't give it the attention it will need as a newborn until later. If you leave your tama on this screen for a few days, when you do eventually put in the name its age will correspond with the amount of days you left it unattended, although this won't make it evolve any faster.

Anyway, for lack of a better name, the new girl is called Emily. After a fairly hectic hour of baby needs, she evolved into Kuchitamatchi, the toddler with the 'beak'. She doesn't really look like a girl, so a lot of the time at first glance I mistake her for a boy.

I'm starting to get really scared when I have to open regular letters on my tamas! Emily has only received poops and snakes today, whilst Alice has gotten maybe one star with the rest also being poop. It's not so bad on the Music Star, but on the V4.5 it drains all the happy hearts!

Incidentally, if you feed your tama its favourite food, it will not only replenish depleted hunger hearts, but will fill up some happy ones as well. That can be a good thing to know, and I found it out today with Alice the Chantotchi. Chantotchi's favourite food is sushi, a much better alternative to the steak I was feeding her before. I bought a lot of steak because it was really expensive in the shop, and as such it made me feel like my tama was super rich when it ate it. I soon found out that actually, steak is a horrible investment, as it makes your tama put on 5lbs at once when it eats it!

Speaking of Alice, she can marry tomorrow. She has yet to win a Music Award, although she is consistently staying in 2nd place in the rankings. I feel like Pip would've been a better choice for the band she's in, as the other two members are Kuchipatchi and Mametchi, and the three of them together are basically Tamagotchi's mascots!

I forgot to mention yesterday that on the V4/.5, your tama can be offered another job once it turns a certain age (for Kyoya it was six, but I don't know if it is the same for all tamas). You'll get a [!] letter, and when you open it you'll be transported to the same place where you first applied for a job. Select another one, or the same one, and you'll be able to play a different minigame! As for Kyoya, I selected for him to become a worker at a gym, although I never got around to playing the minigame,

Today I used some hair gel on Alice, just to see what would happen. She grew a giant afro, which contorted and pushed her hat practically up to the ceiling with its size! It looked pretty hilarious.

Finally, it's stat time.

Day Nine

Not too much has happened today. Kyoya should leave his baby tonight so a lot will be happening tomorrow, I imagine.

Kyoya got robbed twice today. I'm starting to get afraid of opening those letters because they always have bad things in them. Poop, snakes, robbers... They didn't take too much, though. A couple hundred gotchi, which can be easily earnt back with a few games.

Kyoya also got another shovel today. When I used it with him he dug up a snake! I seem to be having really bad luck with my V4.5. I had 10,000gp this morning on it, and since it felt weird to look at so much money, I spent it on some food. Later on there was a robot in the store so I bought that too! It's a shame that tomorrow the baby girl won't enjoy using it... The girls in Tamagotchis only like teddy bears. I like how in the V3 if your tama plays with the toy that corresponds to their gender, then they'll sleep with it. In later generations, the light turns off automatically after your tama goes to sleep, so you can't see them sleeping with the toy.

Alice is still going strong with her band, Hop. This morning she received 5,000,000gp as her first official payment, which isn't as much as Pip used to get. I imagine it goes up as your Star Ranking goes up. Alice's music genre preference has changed to Latin music rather than classical.

Alice received a wig from the king today, which I have yet to use. I also bought her a bow after realising that she didn't have one.

Okay, stat time.

Day Eight

Alice evolved into... drumroll, please!

"All of the drums are broken."

Ah, uh - are you sure?

"I'm pretty sure. I'm looking at the drums right now and all of them have wang-shaped holes in them."

...Okay. Anyway, Alice evolved into a Chantotchi. The perfect care adult!

"Yay, good job."

You aren't needed anymore. That bit is over. Just get out.

Ahem. Anyway, yes, she evolved much later than I thought, but boy was it a nice surprise when I saw a nice, shiny Chantotchi instead of the Makiko I was expecting! Chantotchi is the even generation version of Mimitchi, so you can only get her on, well, even generations such as two, four, eight, etc. This is what Alice now looks like:
She looks like a maid.

Oh my goodness, that picture is huge. Oh well. Yes, that is a Chantotchi, in all of its glory.

I took her to school, where she flaunted the fact that she was now an adult in front of her bandmates, who proceeded to also evolve to catch up. It turns out the bird-tama was actually named John, not Paul. I don't know where I got Paul from. Anyway, the bandmates turned into Kuchipatchi and Mametchi for David the Kikitchi and John the bird-thingy, respectively.

They performed in front of the judges (their music is classical, so they performed a neat little tune I recognised from elsewhere) and passed on their first try! They were each given 10,000gp, but since Alice has already received 30,000gp collectively from Pip, that sum was pocket change to her.

Okay, so I just looked it up, and John's name is Nonopotchi. I remembered from previous knowledge of the v6 that he was a horrible care character for boys, and I was proven correct when I looked up a growth chart to fill in my gaps in information.

Alice got a shovel from Pip today as well. She seems to replace the king most of the time, and she sure gives better presents than him. Today she gave Alice some more money, a snack item and a shovel. When I used the shovel Alice dug up some terrifying-looking skull that growled at her and increased her stress. I think I would be pretty stressed too if I was digging for treasure and found a thousand lost souls instead.

Now, for news on Kyoya. Since I didn't take him to his job yesterday, I haven't taken him today either since he wouldn't receive a paycheck. Mostly I just don't feel like playing the Get knockoff with him today. Oh well, I guess he'll just have to let all of the sick tamas fester for a bit. I like to think that those hearts he catches are actually for transplants, so when he misses it's just, "Oh crap, I guess somebody's not getting their new heart today. GOOD!"

Kyoya got a visit from the matchmaker today! It was at 7:00pm. She paired him with the ugliest tamagotchi, but I didn't feel like waiting, so they had a baby and then she ran off. It had buck teeth and an ice cream cone on its head. Also freckles. It sort of looked like a potato with features and a few Homer Simpson-esque strands of hair on its head.

Oh, boy, can't wait to see the new baby! Oh, here it is! It's a...

It's a girl. God dammit. Can I give the thing back?

"All marriages are final. No refunds."

...Darn. Okay, I guess I'm having three girls in a row! Kyoya's probably feeling pretty down that he has to spend his time with so many ladies. Since he's married and all. They probably want to dress him up and stick him in front of a mirror so that he may experience eternal shame. If I had a brother, that's totally what I would do.

There was another chest in the shop today. Add that to the two from yesterday, and the other one today for Alice that was in the shop, then that's four chests in two days. I also had another shovel laying around in Kyoya's inventory, so it was item time. The shovel dug me up 50gp, so that was kind of awful. The first chest gave me 500gp, so that was a little better, but Kyoya got robbed earlier today and had 800gp stolen from him, so it hardly makes up my losses. The last chest turned Kyoya into a baby, which he got very upset about. He lost all of his happy hearts!

Okay, stat time.

Day Seven

Ah, late post, late post. Not too much has happened today.

Alice has evolved into Chamametchi, the same as her mother. Everything was going well, no care misses, all full hearts, except at bedtime I had the sound turned off so I missed the beep to turn off the lights... Does that count as a care miss? Knowing my luck, probably. I guess that means no Chantotchi for me tomorrow morning. Well, I guess we'll know tomorrow.

I didn't get to take Alice to school much today, but when she was first invited she received timpani drums as her new instrument, so now I have enough instruments that all the band members can have different ones.

Speaking of the band, they're two boys. One is a Kikitchi named David, exactly the same as the last generation, and the other is some kind of bird teen that I know is male. I think his name is Paul. Maybe? Their band name is Hop.

I should have some time in the morning to take Alice to school so that the band can increase its bonds. If I don't, then they won't pass the audition for a pro debut!

Alice received a couple of presents from her mother, Pip, today. One was a shovel, which I have yet to use, and the other was a whopping 15,000gp! I went to the shop and bought Alice a chocolate cake with that new money, and some bread to fill up the food menu seeing as Alice is now a teen and the baby food doesn't fill her up all the way.

Kyoya went to his job as a doctor today and earnt his first paycheck. He got paid 1,700gp, which isn't too bad. I didn't take him there today, and he should be eligible for the matchmaker tomorrow (as he has just now turned five) so I maybe have another day to earn some more money.

I can't wait to get a new baby on the V4.5 and start the cycle all over again! I wonder whether the next baby will be a boy or a girl? I hope it's another boy, seeing as I got a girl again on my Music Star.

In the shop on my V4.5 today there were two chests. I used one and saved the other for tomorrow, and it gave me 200gp, which isn't too much. Kyoya also got a visit from the king, who gave him a bow. I used it and he put it on his head as a little bow-tie! He looked very cute.

I'm not going to post stats today because I am too lazy because it's late and I don't have my tamas right next to me right now. I'll definitely have loads to say tomorrow though, what with the matchmaking possibilities for Kyoya and adulthood for Alice. I like that with the Music Star you can never get the same tama twice in a row, because of the odd/even generations growth chart.

Day Six

Pip the Memetchi left her baby with me this morning. I named her Alice. I'd forgotten that the babies were so needy! It was like every time I checked her hearts were plummeting at the speed of light. Anyway, an hour passed and Alice evolved into a Hitodetchi, which is the star-shaped toddler that you (apparently) receive for perfect care as a baby.

A little while later, the same as the last generation, the preschool teacher came and gave me a new toy, a helicopter. I think the toys in this tama work in three different ways; toys for boys, for girls and toys for both. I personally now have a stuffed panda, a book and a helicopter, so the panda would be for girls, the book for both and the helicopter for boys. But then again I could be completely wrong. I probably am.

Three poops came in the mail for poor Alice today. Imagine having to be the postman though. That might be just as bad, having to walk around with this really smelly bag that you know contains letters just filled to the brim with turds. Then you have other ones that have actual hearts in. And then you have the ones from the king, who apparently gives out gifts randomly to everyone several times in their lifespan, that you can't let get dirty or contaminated by the blood from the hearts or the stink from the poop. ...Gosh, that poor postman. I won't complain about him anymore. Except for when he brings he robbers somehow. Maybe he brings a ransom note and then has to steal the money himself?

Anyway, Kyoya got a job today! He's a doctor. On the V4 and the V4.5, your tama can get a job once it's been an adult for a day. You'll get a [!] note, and much the same as the preschool, your tama will be transported to school where it will shout at the teacher and renounce its hat. After this scene has taken place, you'll receive another note which will take you to a building. Press the A button to scroll through them. What the building looks like will be the job that your tama will get. For example, the hairdresser job's building literally looks like a building with giant scissors attached.

If you take your tama to the job a lot, the next day when you take it, it will receive a paycheck. To access the job, go into the infrared communications icon and select work, as you have done for school and preschool.

After you select a job for your tama, three judges will come up. I believe this is based on skill points, so try to have at least 100 combined. If the judges pass you (an o sign is a pass, an x sign is a fail) then your tama will get a present from the king, which will be a trinket tailored to the job you picked. Since I picked 'doctor' my present was a bag with a medical sign on it. This replaces the hat and is only for cosmetic purposes, as the only time you'll see it is when your tama goes off to work.

The doctor job works exactly the same as the V3's Get game. You must catch hearts and avoid skulls. The white hearts are worth two points and the black ones one point. If you miss a heart (of any colour) or catch a skull, the game is over. Although this game isn't hard, it can be a little difficult to differentiate between the black hearts and the skulls, especially if you're used to the V3 version of the game, which has different things to catch. If you collect 100 points, you win.

On the Music Star, Pip sent Alice a present! It was corn. Also, Kyoya got a beef bowl from the king.

That's it for today, so now it's stat time! Also, on the Music Star, Memetchi's favourite food is cereal, and Hitodetchi's is corn.

Day Five

Woohoo! Two very important things happened today! Pip, my Memetchi, became five years old and as such was eligible for marriage! And Kyoya evolved!

On the Music Star, as I've said before, a tama receives a visit from the matchmaker (which in this version is Guitartchi) who pairs them up with a tama of the opposite gender. Guitartchi comes at 4:30 to offer your tama a mate. He came today and offered an Androtchi, a robot-tama who can be obtained by neglecting a boy, whom Pip fell in love with immediately. So, they got married and had a baby, all within the space of a few seconds. I like that when the tamas have a baby they go behind a curtain, and then there are fireworks. Although you have to wonder how on earth an orange blob with hair and a robot managed to have a baby...

The baby is a girl. I wanted a boy, so that was a little disappointing. I guess no Kuromametchi for me next generation. Oh, well. I like that the baby and the husband both stay with your tama for the day and that both of them get involved with the daily activities of a Music Star. For example, the two adults take turns eating with the baby and anything to do with items - such as a pencil or a hat - is done with both the parents and the baby watching!

For my Music Star, Pip's band did get a 1st Ranking Award for R&B and now that Pip's music genre has changed to Asian I'm hoping that she'll be able to squeeze in one more before she leaves. I'll definitely miss being able to buy all the extravagant things at the shop! Speaking of extravagant things, today I bought a luxury car and a super car to go with my standard one. The luxury car goes a bit faster than the standard one and the super car is practically a limo! I also bought a Spot costume, so now I have that as well as two Mocha ones.

And now, finally to tell you what Kyoya evolved into... an UraTogetchi! They look like Togetchi, but with wings. He looks like this:

Pretty nice, hmm?

Today Kyoya got robbed again! The robber was a bit more courageous today and took 800gp! It's a good thing Kyoya has 7000gp, or that would've been a serious dent in funding. To make up for it, though, the king sent him a plane ticket. I haven't used it yet.

Kyoya had a drum, hat, shirt and a ball, all of which he played with as a new adult. When he put the hat on, it had massive antennae. He flaunted it for a bit and then fell flat on his face! The shirt looked like a dress shirt. When he played with the ball, he fell off after not too long, which is strange considering he has wings.

Pip should be leaving me the new baby tonight. It'll be sad. I'll miss her, even if all the visits at the door get super annoying. I'll post some stats.

Day Four

Nothing has happened today with my tamas by way of evolutions, but plenty of other things have! Also, this post is about a mile long, so cuts.

Day Three

Kyoya the Kuribotchi evolved into a peacock-like tama called Kujakutchi. He's a part of the UraMeme family and unfortunately can't get any special characters for any of the adults he can turn into.

Pip got her first payment from Guitartchi this morning at 9:30am, a whopping 5,000,000 gotchi! I love that you can get so much. I went and bought her a music CD, a slide and a Mocha costume. When she played with the slide she looked very sweet!

In the mail, Pip got a few hearts and stars, along with a poop which she wasn't too happy about. Present-wise, she received another toothbrush, a pencil and a fish. My Music Star got a present from the king at the exact same time as my V4.5 did, although they both got different things. Pip used a chest and got turned into an old lady! Thankfully she didn't lose any happy hearts.

If anybody is curious, the concert times for the V6 are:
5:00pm
5:15pm (if you miss the 5:00 one)
6:00pm
6:15pm (if you miss the 6:00 one)
7:00pm
7:15pm (if you miss the 7:00 one)

Also, Pip and her band are now 1st in the Star Rankings! They had a concert just now and received a Music Award for rock n' roll, which you can find and view under the book option by scrolling through the menus using the A button. It's under the listing awards.

Kyoya was robbed today, and also got a snake in the mail. Thankfully the robber didn't aim too high and only took 100gp from him, and even though the snake dropped his happiness down to one, that was quickly remedied by a game of Climb.

Kujakutchi looks a lot like a digimon - which wouldn't be too surprising, considering the two are made by the same people. It looks like Derimon. I think that's its name.

Anyway, stats time (whilst I was typing this, I looked down to check Pip's stats and caught her about to poop on the floor! On the Music Star, this makes me panicky since the button response times aren't always the best, although I got her to the toilet in time)!

Day Two Update

So, I was digging around through some drawers and I found my V4.5 with a working battery still inside! I thought I might as well start it again. I had to put in the date and time again, but when the egg hatched it was a boy who I named Kyoya.

I like the V4/.5 because they're simple but at the same time have some pretty nifty features. I like how you can get a job. The longest generation I've ever had was on the V4. I was on my 24th generation before my tama died! I think it was a Young Kuchipatchi.

This is a long post, so I'm putting a cut.

Day Two

Well, it happened. At two in the morning, Pip finally evolved into an adult! So, the growth cycle of a Tamagotchi Music Star is: baby to toddler - one hour. Toddler to teen - roughly 24 hours. Teen to adult - 28 hours.

Pip is a Memetchi. Memetchi is the orange tama with huge eyes and a curl on its head. It's an 'average care' adult. As soon as your tamagotchi has evolved into an adult, if you feel it is ready (that is, devoid of stress with high music stats) then take it to the away section under the door icon. It will be transported to school, where it will meet up with the band, who will look shocked at your tama's new adult appearance and then evolve to become adults as well.

Thu the Ichigotchi evolved into a Makiko, and David the Kikitchi into a Shimashimatchi. Your band will then be taken to an audition, set up by Guitartchi (that's actually his name, go figure) in which they will perform a song. The type of song they play will changed based on the genre of the band. Since Pip's band Sugars is rock n' roll, they performed this awesome song that I actually haven't heard before!

Now, usually, when I run a Music Star, it takes me longer to get a pro debut than it actually does to raise the tama. But this time, I passed on the very first try!

I'll tell you how to pass right away. When your tamagotchi is practicing its instrument, sometimes it makes beeping noises. When you hear it make those noises, praise it right away. This stops your tama beeping whilst practicing and helps its stats. Then, when the preschool option is available, take your tamagotchi there a lot. Do the same with the school option. The school option is more important, as it raises bonds within your band. The two things you need to pass the audition are bonds and stats. So, high music stats and a strong bond with the band. If you've already got an adult tama, don't worry about not being able to bond. Take your tama to the away section again and select the music school. Complete the minigame enough times, and your bond will be strong! If you have strong bonds and at least one member of the band is of the opposite sex, your tamagotchi can marry it!

If you've failed the audition, you'll need to wait for Guitartchi to show up at your door for another chance. He does so at certain times of the day.

Pip's Star Ranking is 6th and she has 45,283,434 fans! It goes up quite quickly; at the beginning of the day, she was 999th with only 35,000 fans. When you pass the audition, you'll get a pro debut and immediately receive 10,000 gotchi points. I love that about this version! It makes you feel so rich, and it's very satisfying later on to see huge amounts of money flash across the screen. If you haven't passed yet and are strapped for cash, then go to the away section and scroll through the options available. The other two games apart from the school give you money once you complete them successfully. Not very much money, but it should be enough to buy your tama a meal at least. Remember, if times get desperate, the baby food will still fill them up by two hearts.

I could use the cap and the pencil I bought on Pip today! She looked very sweet in the hat. It looked like a bowler hat! With the pencil, though, she just sat there very seriously, working. She didn't even show me a picture! How cheap. The Gotchi King gifted me with a toothbrush, so apparently he thinks Pip has awful breath. I didn't use it yet because I'm saving it for when she gets married and has a baby. Then I'll see an animation of all three of them using it! Also, in the mail Pip received a star. It worked like it did when you get a heart, and made her happy.

In this version, your tamagotchi can perform at concerts. You'll see how well you do when it pans down to see how many tamas are watching. If you do badly, you'll just see a caretaker sweeping up! If you perform in a concert when your Star Ranking is at number one, you'll receive a Music Award for the genre that you were performing at the time. If you have a tama that switches between genres, you can earn multiple awards. I think you receive money from Guitartchi every morning, but I'm not too sure. It might be after every concert. Guitartchi also acts as the matchmaker in this tama.

More later, or maybe tomorrow.

Day One - and the Days Preceding

I will be posting a log of my tamagotchi(s) here. Mostly it will be for my own benefit, but it would be a pleasure to see other people enjoying this too.

A few days ago, I put a fresh battery in my version 6 (a Music Star). It hatched into a girl, which I named Pip, and received the usual gift of 3000gp and a panda and a guitar for toy and instrument, respectively. After an hour, it turned into a Tamatchi - the 'bad care' toddler - for some reason. I was sure I took really good care of it. Maybe I was playing games with it when it beeped for attention or something?

Unfortunately, when Pip evolved it was eight at night, so she went to sleep straight away instead of letting me play with her. I tried waking her up because she had a happy heart depleted but she just got cross with me and didn't let me play a game or feed her. To wake up a Music Star, you press the C button (that is, the one on the far right) and select yes when it asks you whether or not to wake. This isn't really a recommended thing, though, because waking your tama doesn't do anything apart from making its stress levels rocket.

The next day she woke at some unreasonable time. I think it was seven o' clock. Seven o' clock in the morning. Luckily for me, in the shop was a scone. When a Music Star reaches the teen stage (and anything beyond that) the baby food and milk don't fill up its happy and hungry hearts to more than two. So, you have to buy food from the shop. Since you don't start out with much money, you're going to want to find something cheap. The scones were 220gp, if memory serves. I bought as many as I could, which was twelve or thirteen.

Then the king sent me a letter with 2000 more gotchi points inside! I rushed back to the shop and immediately bought more scones until my food inventory was filled up. Then I saw a toothbrush and bought that too, using it straight away. Pip brushed her teeth and then started showing me how shiny they were! I thought the toothbrush was a several-time use thing, but it's not. It disappears after one use, so I can't use it on the teen I have now.

Since my inventory was full, when the king sent me a beef bowl later on I couldn't accept it. It made Pip happy just to see it, though, so it's all good. The preschool teacher came and delivered me a book (which I assume is the tamagotchi's way of making sure I'm all set if I get a boy next gen) and then Pip was admitted to preschool, where she jump-roped all of the other useless less agile toddlers into the ground. To play the jump rope game, press any button when the rope is at your tama's knees. Doing this correctly earns you ten points for a random music stat, although it also increases stress a little whether you win or not.

Then Pip evolved into Chamametchi - yay, perfect care teen - but then she went to sleep again almost right away. When she woke up the next day, the guitar-man showed up at her door and delivered her some... singers? Singers are an instrument, apparently. All I can think of is Pip shouting and directing some poor people to sing for her, whilst she does nothing. Then she went to school and met her band-mates!

A female Ichigotchi named Thu, and a Kikitchi named David. Their band is named Sugars! All right, so it's not a great name. But at least it's better than 'Thu'. I made them practice a lot, because that increases the band's bond, which makes them more likely to pass the auditions later on. To play the school game, press the button that corresponds with the notes over the tamagotchi's heads. Make sure you do it in order - if A lights up, then C then B, you have to press the buttons in that order too. The tama is super nitpicky about it. If you do it right (you'll know because a victory tune will play) then your tama will earn twenty points towards a random music stat, although like last time stress is increased.

Pip ate a lot of the scones I bought, so when the king (thankfully) delivered me some more gotchi, it was time for shopping! I bought her a whole bunch of super-duper-healthy hotdogs. And since I had a bit of money left over, a cap and a pencil too. She can't use either yet. Here are her stats:
Hungry: 4/4 full
Happy: 4/4 full
Age: 1 year
Weight: 21lbs
Stress: 0
Tone: 588
Rhythm: 541
Original: 908
Music Genre: Rock n' Roll

That's all for now, although I might post again with what she evolves into! Hopefully it's something good.
